The NICS eLibrary has a substantial collection of eBooks available to all NICS staff via the library catalogue. To search for ebooks only click on the link below to open the Advanced Search page, tick EBOOK under the Item Types tab and carry out your keyword/title/author search. In your list of titles, follow the Online resources link in the book details to open the ebook on your screen.
Alternatively, go to the library homepage and enter your title or subject in the main catalogue search box, then on the results page, refine your search using the options on the left of the screen by selecting EBOOK under Item Types.
eBook Platforms
The library provides access to ebooks on 2 platforms: ProQuest Ebook Central and VLeBooks. Both are accessed via IP recognition so no password is required. Once you have opened the ebook in either platform you have the option to read it online and copy/print a portion of the title which will be clearly indicated. Ebooks can be accessed directly from the Ebook Central and VLeBooks homepage, or via a link in the catalogue record for a specific title.
